"Cloud" has become a buzzword that has made its way into conversations with senior management and IT departments.  It is in reference to services that are "hosted" in a data center and are accessed over an Internet connection.  This can be as complicated as having infrastructure and servers that are hosted by Amazon, Google, or Microsoft in their cloud data centers or just applications.
